Every religion is founded upon three pillars: Believing, Behaving, and Belonging. For Jews, Belonging is what binds us together as a people: we are the great-grandchildren of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, and Jacob and Leah, Rachel, Bilhah and Zilpah. And the best way to remind ourselves that we belong together is ... to get together in a common behavior (and maybe even belief!).
Last week we honored the lives taken at Tree of Life - Or L'Simcha Congregation in Pittsburgh, and reminded ourselves of the joy of being in community, of being in a place where we truly belonged. Let's do it again this week.
We hope you and your family will join us at TBS to welcome Shabbat together at 6:15pm. After services, we will all go home, bound up in belonging and behaving (and maybe even believing!), and have Shabbat dinner. If you can't come on Friday, please join us on Saturday - our morning services are at 10:00am.
We belong together. I look forward to being with you soon.
